On Wednesday, October 10, more than 200 supporters of Live Out Loud turned out in full force for a special benefit performance of Charles Busch’s new Off-Broadway hit “Die Mommie Die!”
The evening kicked-off with a welcome from director Carl Andress before the curtain-raised on the first preview performance of one of the most-anticipated and hilarious new comedies of the fall season. After the curtain call, actor and playwright Charles Busch delivered a warm and heartfelt tribute to the important work that Live Out Loud does for LGBT youth in New York City.
The night concluded with a VIP after-party with the show’s cast including Busch, Emmy Award nominee Van Hansis (who made television history with the first on-screen gay kiss in daytime soap operas on “As the World Turns”), Chris Hoch, and Ashley Morris.
Special thanks to long-time Live Out Loud supporters and “Die Mommie Die” producers Bob Boyett and Daryl Roth for helping make the benefit such a success.
All proceeds raised from the event will support Live Out Loud, New York’s premier non-profit organization dedicated to connecting LGBT youth to leaders and role models in the LGBT community through events and programs at area schools and universities.
