April 3, 2013 – Live Out Loud is seeking a Treasurer to join its Board of Directors.
As Live Out Loud expands to meet the growing needs of LGBTQ youth, your leadership and support can help shape the organization’s future at this important time. By sharing your talents, expertise, and time, you can play a crucial role in supporting and creating tomorrow’s LGBT leaders in the following ways:
- Meeting Frequency: Attend five board meetings per year (two hour meetings) and six-hour annual retreat. At least once between Board meetings.
- General: Manage the Board’s review of, and action related to, the board’s financial responsibilities. May work directly with the bookkeeper or other staff in developing and implementing financial procedures and systems.
- Reports: Ensure that appropriate financial reports are made available to the Board. Regularly report to Board on key financial events, trends, concerns, and assessment of fiscal health.
- Finance Committee: Chair the Finance Committee and prepares agendas for meetings, including a year-long calendar of issues.
- Auditor: Recommend to the Board whether the organization should have an audit. If so, select and meet annually with the auditor in conjunction with the Finance and/or Audit Committees.
- Cash Management and Investments: Ensure, through the Finance Committee, sound management and maximization of cash and investments.
- Support Live Out Loud fundraising efforts, including attending at least one fundraising event per year, such as annual gala and/or Hamptons benefit, and making a personal contribution to the organization.
